Brian is responsible for the overall strategic direction, performance, and leadership of Monsoon Commerce and is a member of the Board of Directors. Brian previously served as CEO of Alibris leading sales and marketing, where he drove an average annual growth of nearly 40% over Alibris’ first decade and built its Retail Partner Services business. Prior to Alibris, Brian was a principal with the Boston Consulting Group, focused on e-commerce opportunities, growth strategies, and partnerships for Fortune 500 consumer goods and retail companies on a global basis. Brian is a graduate of Northwestern University and Harvard Business School, where he was a Baker Scholar.
Kanth is responsible for driving the direction and growth of Monsoon Commerce Seller Solutions and is a member of the Board of Directors. Kanth has been involved in e-commerce since 1994, when he founded and led operations at Powells.com, the online arm of the nation’s largest independent bookstore. Prior to the founding of Monsoon Commerce in 2002, Kanth served as VP of E-commerce and Marketing at Djangos.com, where he oversaw all aspects of the company’s online business. Powell’s and Django’s were among the earliest and most successful online marketplace sellers. Kanth holds a master’s degree in Government and International Studies from the University of South Carolina.
Peter leads Product Management and Software Engineering for Monsoon Commerce Seller Solutions. In this role, Peter is responsible for the planning, design, development, QA, and delivery of Seller Solution products. Peter previously served as Principal and VP of Applications for Transitional Data Services (TDS), where he co-founded and built an internationally distributed open-source engineering team, bootstrapping several early-stage startups with agile development services. This team also was responsible for implementation and customization of Openbravo’s open-source ERP for a number of large clients in web retailing and distribution. Peter has also held senior roles at Inktomi, Adero, Marcam Solutions, LEGENT, and the X Consortium. He holds a BSEET from DeVry Institute of Technology.
Casey is responsible for all aspects of corporate and product marketing for Monsoon Commerce. Casey was previously the VP of Product Strategy and Marketing at Webtrends, where he led the charge in moving a single-product company to broad portfolio of analytics, optimization, and social marketing solutions. Before joining Webtrends, Casey was SVP of Product Marketing for Epsilon, a leading marketing services provider. He also served as VP of Marketing for DoubleClick’s Abacus Division for five years. Casey received his MBA from Regis University with an emphasis in Marketing. He frequently speaks on the topics of B-to-B, digital, database, and social marketing at regional and national conferences.
Mariah is responsible for ensuring that Monsoon Commerce finds, grows, and retains talented individuals, working with executives across the Monsoon Commerce locations to craft and care for their teams. She has worked in the human resources field at high-tech firms in Silicon Valley for the past 15 years. Prior to joining Monsoon Commerce, Mariah served as VP of HR at Red Brick Systems and Spectrum HoloByte. Mariah also developed the West Coast HR presence and infrastructure for KnowledgeWare. Mariah holds a BS in Organizational Behavior from the University of San Francisco.
Richard is responsible for the finance and accounting operations at Monsoon Commerce. Previously, Richard served in the same capacity as the Chief Financial Officer of Alibris. Prior to Alibris, he was Director of Finance Signatures Network, a global music merchandising and e-commerce company based in San Francisco, where he managed the forecasting, accounting, and reporting functions for the business. He has more than 15 years of experience in financial, legal, and accounting matters, beginning his career as an auditor in the U.K. Richard is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from King’s College, London.
Sean is responsible for driving the direction and growth of Marketplace Services, as well as coordinating business development and sales across the company. Sean has more than 20 years of experience providing valued services to Fortune 500 companies. At Premier Retail Networks (PRN), Sean was a pioneer and innovator in the application of digital marketing and merchandising to leading retailers like Wal-Mart, Costco, and Best Buy. After Technicolor acquired PRN, Sean served as president of the Media Networks Division, CEO of PRN Worldwide, and chairman of Screenvision USA. Sean started his career at Accenture, focusing on the enablement of retail strategies using advanced technology. Sean graduated from Stanford University with a BS in Physics.
Mark manages procurement, global product distribution, cataloging, and fulfillment for Monsoon Commerce. Before joining the company, Mark created and ran an independent operations consulting practice specializing in all aspects of logistics design and shipping with a strong financial management focus. Mark also was with United Parcel Service for 15 years and held a variety of logistics and financial management positions, including responsibility for designing and managing a new regional distribution center. Mark earned an MBA in logistics and finance with academic honors from the University of Nevada.
John Seaner is responsible for all P&L activities for Monsoon Stone Edge. John previously served as General Manager of Americas for Maxxing, a leading provider of trade promotion and offer management solutions. John brings over 20 years of experience in international sales, marketing, product management and corporate strategy for several leading supply chain solution providers including Vice President, Emerging Markets and Technologies for GS1 US, Vice President and General Manager of EPCglobal US, Vice President of Industry Development for EPCglobal, Vice President and General Manager of Global Products for QRS (now GXS), and Chief Marketing Officer for Prophet 21 (now Epicor). John is a graduate of Temple University.
As head of the Alibris brand, Adam is responsible for driving the strategic direction and growth for this Internet Retailer top 150 website. Over the past 16 years, Adam has grown online retail sales for such top retailers as Wet Seal, Target, and Musician’s Friend and has held various marketing and operations leadership positions. As Director of E-commerce at Wet Seal, Adam was instrumental in bringing to market a highly rated social-commerce application called The Runway, which allowed shoppers to create, recommend, and buy outfits from this popular teen retailer. At Musician’s Friend, Adam held the position of Director of Marketing and was in charge of the overall strategic brand and marketing direction for this top 50 Internet Retailer. Adam holds a degree in Marketing and Music from the University of Massachusetts.
Ruth brings more than 15 years of experience in client services and a passion for building strong client relationships to Monsoon Commerce. In this role, Ruth is responsible for the client support, account management, training, and implementation teams. Previously, Ruth led a client services team for Children’s Creative Learning Centers, where she ensured team members were engaged in client advocacy and the delivery of consistently high client satisfaction. Ruth was also a Vice President at Via Training, where she led the program development and client services teams, guiding the company through many stages of rapid growth. Ruth continually seeks client input in furthering the Monsoon Commerce mission of building a client-centric culture. Ruth holds a MBA from Portland State University and a BA from the University of Oregon.
